~ Latest Project ~

I've finally had some time to work on a project that I've been dying to finish!!
I found a beautiful French Bed that was stored in a barn for years
and the owner decided it was damaged beyond repair, so she sold it to me for $40!!
After accessing the damage I realized there was potential...
It's now in my guest bedroom fit for a princess!!

Here are the before pictures...
The back of the headboard was cracked and punched out of it's frame,
so I tore out all of the backing and glued the frame back together!

After painting it, I decided to upholster the openings...

Here are some of the other pieces I've been finding to create the look of this bedroom...
These beautiful French nightstands were posted on Craigslist for several months and
the owner never answered my response to come buy them!!
Finally after 6 months he somehow figured out that responses to the ads
go to the junk section first, so I finally got a response!
They had been stripped and had some surface damage, so I decided
they would look best painted to match the bed...

One of my favorite finds is this Italian Hand Painted desk...
It's in it's original condition and so sweet!!

My latest find is this gorgeous Italian Toleware Chandelier with
Porcelain Roses...It's exactly what I had in mind to complete the look of this room...

And last but not least...I have found a home for my settee that still hasn't been upholstered!!
One of these days it's going to finally be completed...

My next project is to redecorate my daughter's room!!
~ Now that we are empty nester's it's time to fluff things up ~

~Wedding Bliss~

I'm finally coming up for air since my daughter's wedding one month ago!!
It turned out Divine!!
I'm anxiously awaiting for the photographer to send the pics, but he has
gone off to Europe for a few weeks to do some events over there.
I do have a few shots of her Bridal Shower that I will share...

I ordered these Pink Spray Roses thru Costco's Online Floral to see if I wanted
to use them for the wedding, and they turned out to be exactly what I had in mind!
They were shipped overnight from Columbia!!

There is a dealer at Monticello who makes these fabulous dresses out of coffee filters
and vintage mattress springs!!
Amazing!!

We had the Shower at my parents house and it turned out to be such a lovely setting!
The Wedding was in a barn, so wait til you see how that turned out...
It was Awesome!!

Here is my sweet daughter Kirstie...
my next blog will show her with her new hubby!!

~Diva Chairs~

On my treasure hunt for some special chairs for the Bride & Groom
I came across an amazing assortment of beautiful chairs!
Some have inspired me to totally redecorate my diningroom!!
Others I will reluctantly have to sell!!
Here's a sample of what I've been working on and we'll see
what ends up being used for the wedding...

Here's a pic of how they looked when I found them...

Here are some incredibly beautiful chairs that will need to be re-upholstered
so I'm not sure if I will have time to deal with that!

Here are a couple other chairs that are so divine!!
The white one has sold, but the black one will be with a complete
table and chair set at the Monticello Spring Show!!

And last but not least...
Here is a precious find fit for a princess!!

I'm looking forward to my next big project!!
I've been storing a gorgeous French Bed and a matching Armoire
to be used in my guest bedroom...
I've been cringing at the thought of painting such a beautiful wood,
but after seeing these pics on the FullBloomCottage website,
I am now raring to go!!!

OMG!! Can't wait!!

~Latest Projects~

Wow how time flies!!
I've never been so busy in my life!
I've been getting ready for the Monticello Spring Show, planning my
daughters wedding, taking care of my grandkids, working the shop several days a week...
I think I need a vacation!!

I thought it was about time I shared a few things I've been working on...
I found this tired old buffet that needed a new life!!
It had certainly seen better days, but I was inspired to create a
fun potting bench that can be used indoors, and this is what I came up with.

Here's a before shot...it was missing the two doors on the base, and
the mirror was scratched on the upper section,
so I added burlap and chicken wire to give it a usable pin board!

You can find this sweet piece at the Monticello Spring Show
that begins on April 12th and runs until June 16th.

I'm working on some awesome ideas for my daughters wedding, and I will
start posting some more pics as soon as I can...

~Blessings to you this Easter Season~

~Celebration of Love~

Well...it's time for me to kick into high gear with my daughter's wedding plans!!
June 15th is the date, and it will be here before we know it!!
I'm so thrilled that my daughter is wanting a "Vintage Style Wedding"
it's amazing how much stuff I already have to use to decorate with!!
I'm looking forward to posting my ideas as I go along...
So far we have decided it will be an Elegant Barn Wedding.
(Since she is a cowgirl!)
Vintage Lace, Antique Silver, Shabby Chic here and there...
We have secured a wedding barn in Chehalis Washington for the venue.
This whole project has enticed me to start my own wedding rental business...
...OMG...Another business??

The hardest part to planning a wedding is creating the "Theme"
We have compiled all the elements which include:
an elegant vintage style lace dress, a barn setting, Antique Silver, Chandeliers, etc...
I ran across the most adorable invitation that was a mock up of a chalkboard
with lace edging, which I decided to use as a "real" chalkboard to set the theme!!
I had a couple wooden frames hanging around that I attached some ornate brass
appliques onto, and then whitewashed them to create the look I was going for...
These will be used to showcase pictures and maybe menus...

There are a lot of ideas for a barn wedding on Pinterest that show lots of burlap
and farm touches, but I was leaning towards a more elegant version,
so I found a beautiful natural linen tablecloth that
has just the right amount of embroidered lace to the edges to give that
rustic yet elegant touch!

Is that gorgeous or what?? I can't wait to see how all the flowers look in these
fabulous silver pieces! Now I just need to look for about 100 more pieces of silver...lol!
I neglected to mention that I just got out of surgery to fix a hernia, so I am "On Pause"
for the next few weeks!! OMG...how do you put a Type A Person "On Pause"??
~~Wishing you the very best New Year~~
